Thanks, Nigel, for your kind words, hospitality and curiosity! Yes, we are definitely in a position to be able to help. One of the first things we need to do is get a MOU on file between RSVP and Trinity Lutheran Church. The MOU is non-binding but it’s a piece of paper the law requires us to have on file. I will forward a copy later this morning. And then we need to get a few of your existing volunteers who are willing to sign onto the RSVP roster. That doesn’t mean they will be doing any more volunteering than they are already doing—it just shows that we have some folks from your congregation as active registered RSVP volunteers. Then we can allocate some of our Staff Time and resources to helping you.
We have simplified our registration process so that it’s not a burden to anyone. We can discuss that over the phone, too.

Once we get to that point, then I will come up and we can sit down with you and perhaps some of the people you cc’d your email to. We can discuss what it is that you wish a website to do for your congregation and then we will go looking for a suitable and appropriate volunteer to assist in reaching your goals and objectives.

One thing you can all be thinking about is what’s called your Domain Name. A Domain Name is the name you give out to people to find your website. For example, the new city website is

http://cityofstanthony.org/

That’s a very logical Domain Name for St. Anthony. I just checked and “trinitylutheranchurch” is taken in all of its permutations.
However, these two Domain Names are available in every form (dot com, dot org, dot net and so forth)

stanthonytrinitylutheran
trinitylutheranstanthony

I don’t know whether you would wish a dot com, dot org or dot net. That’s up to you and your Church Leaders. In any event, the choice of your Domain Name is a very important choice and definitely should require some thoughtful consideration because that is the name you will have pretty much forever unless you choose to change it.

Well, I will go find the electronic copy of the MOU and email it to you soon. Thanks for your interest in partnering with RSVP! Have a great day.
